AAOS Disclosure Program

The AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program serves as a central repository of all relevant commercial relationships for orthopaedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals involved in organizational governance, clinical practice guidelines (CPG), appropriate use criteria (AUC), and Performance Measures (PM) development, CME faculty or authors of enduring materials, editors-in-chief and editorial boards.

The information in the AAOS Orthopaedic Disclosure Program is available to the public and to other AAOS Fellows.

ACCME considers relationships of the person involved in the CME activity to include financial relationships of a spouse or partner. The ACCME expects that providers will communicate to everyone who is in a position over control of content of an educational activity that the individual’s disclosure of relevant financial relationships must include:

Purpose of the Disclosure Program

The disclosure program has two primary purposes

  • Streamlining the disclosure process for orthopaedic surgeons and others involved in organizational governance, all formats of continuing medical education and authors of enduring materials, clinical practice guidelines (CPG) and appropriate use criteria (AUC) development and editors-in-chief and editorial boards, from whom disclosure is required; and
  • Increasing transparency throughout AAOS by making this disclosure program available to the public and to AAOS members.

AAOS policy requires all members involved in organizational governance, CPG, AUC, and PM development, CME faculty or authors of enduring materials, editors-in-chief and editorial boards to complete the AAOS mandatory disclosure information. View the AAOS disclosure policy.

If you have any questions about the AAOS policy on disclosure or the process, please email to disclosure@aaos.org.
